Since January 1, 2020, transactional web platforms operating in the tourism industry in Quebec have been mandated by Revenu Québec to collect the lodging tax.

Travelers who book WeChalet accommodations located in La Belle Province pay the following taxes as part of their reservation:

  • Lodging tax: 3.5% of the price of the lodging for reservations of a duration of 31 nights or less in the province of Quebec. For more information, please consult the Revenu Québec website.

Since WeChalet collects and remits the lodging tax for you, this means that you do not need to collect it yourself as a host.
