Since January 1, 2020, transactional web platforms operating in the tourism industry in Quebec have been mandated by Revenu Québec to collect accommodation tax. This measure also applies to reservations made on WeChalet.

Travelers booking accommodations with WeChalet in the beautiful province are subject to the following taxes as part of their reservation:

  • Accommodation Tax: This represents 3.5% of the accommodation price for reservations with a duration of 31 nights or less in the province of Quebec. Detailed information is available on the Revenu Québec website.

It's important to note that WeChalet is responsible for collecting this tax on behalf of the government, alleviating concerns for hosts. The funds collected are then remitted to the government in accordance with current regulations. Thus, hosts do not need to worry about managing the accommodation tax on our platform.

For more specific information, please visit the Revenu Québec website.
